Mousie

This is an ALPHA tutorial

if you haven't used them before I must recommend you do :O)

firstly download my MousieAlpha :O)

please respect the fact that I hand drew the pieces, so don't alter the Alpha File name - thanks. :O)

Your Finished product is yours but the Alpha File still belongs to me :O)


lets begin :O)


add a new raster layer for each of the body parts, this is a must...hehe

1)Add New Raster Layer and call it Ears - then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Ears

2)Using the Flood Tool - and the colour Brown...(#800000) Fill the ears...

3)Add new raster layer and call it Head - then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Head - then fill with the same brown, using your Flood Tool

4)Add new raster layer and call it - Body -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Body - then fill with the same brown, using your Flood Tool

5)Add new raster layer and call it - Tail -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Tail - then fill with the same brown, using your Flood Tool

6)Add new raster layer and call it - Face -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Face - then fill with BLACK, using your Flood Tool

7)Add new raster layer and call it -Whiskers -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Whiskers - then fill with BLACK, using your Flood Tool

8)Add new raster layer and call it - Feet -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Feet - then fill with the same brown, using your Flood Tool

9)Add new raster layer and call it - Arms -  then Click on SELECTIONS>Load from Alpha Channel , then click Arms - then fill with the same brown, using your Flood Tool

10) Add new raster layer and call it - BOWS - then copy and paste the 2 bows into your image... :O)

Tricky part now...LOL

X - out the BOWS, WHISKERS ,FACE layers, and click on the ARMS layer , then right click on this and then > MERGE > MERGE VISIBLE

Rename that layer MOUSIE , and click it to highlight it..- then using your SELECTIONS TOOL, go around the Mouse Shape, then click inside the selection to activate it..

Now click SELECTIONS >> MODIFY >> EXPAND >> and expand by 1 pixel - then Flood fill with the Brown..(#800000) , and then DE-SELECT (CTRL D)

we need to now duplicate this layer :O) right click on the MOUSIE layer and duplicate this...then highlight this as we are working with this one....

now using your Magic WAND Tool :O) , and holding down your SHIFT KEY , and using your mouse , click in the ears,body,head,feet

then go to SELECTIONS  >> MODIFY >> EXPAND >> and expand by 1 pixel - then Flood fill with the Colour..(#EFD49B) ,KEEP it selected :O) now go to SELECTIONS>>INVERT and then click on your Drop Shadow TOOL

Now DE-SELECT

DRAG your copy of mousie layer to the bottom of you layers palette like so...

Now this is YOUR choice...you can speckle your MOUSIE :O)

to do this...
make sure your copy of mousie layer is active -( click on the layers palette and click the Copy Of Mousie layer to activate it)
then using your selections Tool go around the mousie and then click inside to activate it...then using the following settings on AIRBRUSH TOOL


and a brown of your choice - I used (#98661E) lightly speckle the mouse

go to Layers >> Merge >> Merge Visible

Now add a New Raster Layer , this is for the Belly button and the Whites of the mousse Eyes :O)
using your Paintbrush Tool, and the colour white, and these settings add the whites of the eyes

then change the colour to Brown,(#800000) , and same settings but make the size-#7 place the bellybutton into place :O)

now go to Layers  >> Merge >> Merge Visible

Add your watermark / Name and SAVE AS

well done :O)
